"People say I'm crazy...

...doing what I'm doing."

John Lennon wrote that, and I'm living it right now.

This blog is to chronicle my travel and adventures over the next 60 days, in my quest to attain 1 million aeroplan miles using the Air Canada Flight Pass which provides me with "unlimited" (ya, we'll see) travel in North America.

Why do this? Why subject myself to overnights in cramped seats, bad food in cold dishes, and movies without nudity? I guess you'll have to tune in every few days to read all about it. :)

I love it! Chasing one million frequent flyer miles is a great game.

Look forward to reading more.

I don't think you're crazy, especially if you like to fly. Some years ago, I bought an Unlimited Mileage Pass with Eastern Airlines It was considerably cheaper ~ three weeks of unlimited systemwide travel including the Caribbean and Mexico for only $526.00 USD. I flew 108 flights for 103,000 miles. Back then, you got steaks and double baked potatoes in coach on longer flights and overall very good food and service. Have a great time!

I am pulling for you. I know you will meet your goal of miles- but I am worried about your redemption of them. I find the whole FF process slightly unethical (from the airline side). After being told all the FF seats were filled for a destination I wanted to take...I decided to try "earlier" next time. Earlier being the year before the flight opens. As the first one to call (to the minute) of the alloted time prior to book a flight with miles..I was told there were no seats available. Hummm well, that is because the airlines DO NOT WANT PEOPLE TO REDEEM MILES! It was funny though, how I offered to double my miles and see if I could book a ticket with a not so "standard" award...and all of a sudden... that was ok. Well....I have learned my lesson. Use miles, any way you can...because most of us poor souls counting on a trip to grandma, or a vacation next year on them...will be SOL. I wish you the very best in getting to use your miles...hopefully there will be no rule (just written!) to prevent you from this. Perhaps all the good publicity will also help your cause. They wouldn't dare deny you, would they? For eating airline food alone for so many meals- you deserve a special award. Good luck! XO

From one (slightly less crazy) road warrior to another: good luck! Great story and great adventure. One thing, though...keep track of how much this is all costing you -- I would be interested (including airfare, transportation, lodging -- if any -- and so forth).

you must really like to fly. I hate it, as well as airports. How much did that pass cost? I think I got something in the mail about it, but I tossed it.

I don't mean to rant here, but some of what I have found on the net like to buy drugs now or buy meds online seem like a scam or they are infested with adware or a virus. These scams and spyware make you want to just jump in your ford and drive as fast as you can away to some alternative but healthier lifestyle.
