Back in Business
Well, that was quick. Air Canada has outdone themselves. I posted the below comment while I was in Toronto, just prior to boarding AC137 . On landing in Vancouver, I had am email that it was fixed. All is working now!

I suppose that means that AC is watching your blog with great interest. Have you been offered the BMW yet?
I was actually thinking. This is going to be a fairly sound investment for you.
You get
(a) a crapload of miles
(b) $2500 spending spree @ harrys
(c) bmw for a year / kick ass vacation (call it $4000 for argument's sake)
(d) more craploads of miles
So really when you think about it, besides all of those man hours spent flying around, it'll have cost you a net of around $1500 for all the miles you manage to accumulate. Not a bad deal all things considered.
